Financial institutions in Europe will be expected to comply with a broad range of new or updated ESG regulations from the end of 2023, including SFDR, EBA GLOM, EBA Pillar 3 and several others. This means that the ESG and wider regulatory reporting will require transformation to comply with the new and extensive scale of requirements.

Our regulatory ESG heatmap highlights key regulatory milestones for 2023 and beyond and outlines actions financial firms need to take to meet the regulators' expectations.

ESG regulations affect the front, middle and back office of your company. They add cross-divisional requirements pertaining risk management, strategy making, data and reporting processes. Many regulations overlap and require similar data. In addition, financial institutions are increasingly dependent on the data supplied by their clients and customers.

In this context, navigating the ESG regulatory maze will require careful planning, robust data management, relationship management and risk management to ensure timely fulfilment of ECB's disclosures and other reporting obligations.
