A career in financial services was never on the cards after studying Criminology at University. I now find myself with a breadth of experience spanning banking, payments, and financial services consultancy.

My first impression of Capco was that it was a warm and welcoming place to work with exceptionally talented individuals. I knew immediately this would be a great place to learn and develop and to lean on others knowledge and experience to improve my own skillset. The main reason for joining Capco was the culture and people. The company stood out throughout the interview process and more so after my conversations with senior management who are down to earth and genuinely interested in you. Having worked for a Big Four firm with their rigid structure, Capco stands out above the rest with their non-hierarchical culture.

I was an incredibly competitive teenager participating in every sport possible with only a win in mind. At 15 years old, I had major back surgery which affected the succeeding 10 years of my life. As an active person, the years of rehabilitation affected me both physically and mentally. I found it difficult to motivate myself. Today, I am an advocate of a balanced lifestyle which means being outside regularly, exercising daily and goal setting to improve myself both professionally and personally. I feel it is important to communicate this narrative with others to normalize personal struggles and create an open dialogue. In recent years, I have lost the competitive edge I once held and have a more relaxed approach to life. Capco allows me to be bring my personality to work, as well as my professional skills, something which makes Capco stand out from other consultancies. Capco is a truly a people-centric business that brings the best out of its employees.

I lived in London for two years, and have recently relocated back to my northern roots, in Manchester, to be closer to family and friends. I am one of the original members of the Capco ‘northern hub’. I am confident that Capco’s presence will continue to grow in the North as we diversify and grow our client base.

Outside of work commitments, I am passionate about mental health and giving back. Capco is great for ensuring mental health is a priority and have a fantastic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. Within three months of being with the firm, I have joined the CSR team assisting charities with various projects, most recently an engagement with the NHS, looking at electronic pacemaker passports. My biggest passion in life is new experiences – whether that be travel, food or an activity. I enjoy being outdoors and will normally be found taking the dog for a walk trying out the latest overpriced coffee!
