COLLABORATION WITH CATALYSTSX: DIGITAL STORYTELLING & NETWORKING LINKEDIN 101

Introduction

In March 2022, Capco partnered with CatalystsX on a pro bono initiative that was facilitated by Capco’s Impact Consulting Group (ICG).

“Digital Storytelling & Networking LinkedIn 101” was a workshop session held by Capco, a global financial technology and management consulting firm. The workshop included an introduction and best practices to LinkedIn, as well as a break-out session to discuss how to tell your story digitally.

Throughout the collaboration, Capco volunteer consultants worked on creating and sharing a presentation with the purpose of introducing LinkedIn to the audience of CatalystsX, and how it can be used to tell your story.

Capco’s team worked internally and externally with the client, CatalystsX, to tackle this scope.

What We Did

Our Capco team utilized their unique skills and research to deliver the following:

- Highlighted the importance of networking and LinkedIn as an essential tool for networking
- Practiced brand storytelling in breakout sessions
- Equipped audience with best practices on setting up strong LinkedIn profiles
- Explained how to build a digital presence
- Established a strong relationship with CatalystsX that could open the way for future collaboration opportunities

How We Did It

There were numerous collaboration sessions within the team, client, and Capco ICG leadership to deliver the following:

Brainstormed with internal team to align on approach
- Bi-weekly meetings to strategize and iterate the presentation
- Kicked off with a land acknowledgement, to ensure cultural sensitivity and set the right tone for the session
- Shared digital networking and storytelling best practices in a digestible and engaging way to ensure audience could follow and add them to their toolkit
- Regular communication with client partners, including mid-way walkthrough of workshop

Results

Our Capco team consisted of Harieth Taneja, Greta Post, and Sharon Park. Additionally, the team received support from Lakshmi Punati, Ryan Cain, Nicholas Campanella and Sabina Ghinescu. Their work was well received as noted by Justin Ford, CEO of CatalystsX:

“I just wanted to reach out and say thank you for the wonderful workshop you presented last week. It was informative, accessible, and enjoyable! We really appreciate all the time and care that you all put into creating this workshop . . . Excellent job in facilitating! You created an inviting and safe space.

We hope that there will be more opportunities to present this same workshop in the future (if you are up for it!). I also wanted to pass along that there was a group that had come together in-person to participate in this workshop. They streamed it on a big screen with 8 Indigenous women watching and live updating their own LinkedIn pages while following along with the presentation. Initiatives like these can make long lasting impacts for the people we serve.”
