Leading Life Insurance Carrier Builds Ecosystem to Support Growth of Simplified Issue Life Insurance

INTRODUCTION

Capco partnered with a leading life insurance carrier to facilitate the planning, design, and delivery of an ecosystem that will enable growth of simplified issue products. Capco delivered an execution roadmap including capabilities needed, go-to-market options for the capabilities and a detailed plan with initiatives, sequencing, timing, and dependencies to meet target delivery date and financial goals.

WHY NOW?

The client aimed to deliver a digitally enabled platform for simplified issue life insurance products (simplified issue life insurance is a policy you can be approved for with minimal health questions), leveraging best of breed capabilities and potential partnerships to provide an easy to use, single-interaction, flexible platform for partners, advisors and customers.

HOW WE DID IT

APPROACH

Capco created alignment on the vision, the product horizon backlog and prioritized capabilities inventory to establish a target-state roadmap and quarterly release schedule, including Minimum Viable Product scope and milestones. Additionally, Capco established a high-level capability and architecture solution for the target-state platform and a technical solution plan for the capabilities to be delivered in the Minimum Viable Product, taking into consideration existing capabilities and delivery timelines for projects in-flight. Finally, Capco produced a project plan and governance framework for project delivery, including working groups and risk management, and provided an inventory of epics, features, stories, and journeys aligned with the Minimum Viable Product.

WHAT WE DELIVERED

IMPACT

Capco helped our client to define a clear 2+ year roadmap for bringing Simplified Solutions to market, with incremental product launches over the next 6-9 months.
