I'm Marina – born in the North of Brazilbut a Paulista at heart. I was raised in a small town, where I learned the value of family and friendship. I'm the daughter of a strong woman and granddaughter of Northeasterners. I love traveling and discovering the world, exploring new places and cultures, and competing in amateur CrossFit competitions with my biggest supporter—my husband.

I’ve always been a dedicated student. I attended a private school on a scholarship and graduated in Environmental Engineering through a government program (PROUNI). I also participated in an exchange program in Italy through another government program, which turned out to be the best experience of my life. It allowed me to learn about new cultures and challenge myself beyond the boundaries of my home country. I always say I matured ten years in one during that time.

After graduation, like many others, I felt lost and disoriented while entering the job market. I didn’t immediately work in my field; instead, I became a salesperson and store manager, which helped me a lot in dealing with all kinds of people. At the same time, I started managing projects as a freelancer—creating processes and managing change—until I made a career shift into technology, discovering my passion for agile methodologies.

One day, I applied for a Junior Agile Coach position here at Capco, where I entered the world of consulting—and fell in love. I still remember my first project: leading an agile transformation at a brokerage. I was fortunate to be surrounded by exceptional colleagues, who generously shared their knowledge with me. Big thanks to Luiz Abdo, Gustavo Bozza, and many others who were there with me.

From day one, I could tell Capco was different. I distinctly remember a Partner at the time, Jan Stüve, asking for my opinion in a meeting. I was stunned—thinking, Wait, what? I’m just a junior here. That same day, he told me that at Capco, every opinion matters. That I should never be afraid to speak up and should always communicate my career aspirations, , reminding me that I’m the owner of my career. That was a turning point in my life.

Of course, in consulting, things change when contracts end. I felt anxiety for the first time, unsure about the future and my next challenge. But that’s what I love about consulting—you’re always stepping into a new role or project, and my greatest skill is adapting to new environments.

Here at Capco, I’ve faced many challenges, but I’ve always had leadership support—like my most recent challenge in Insurance, where William Bachion and Wesley Menezes helped me grow both professionally and personally. After all, as a Capricorn, I don’t really separate personal and professional life very well.

When I graduated as an engineer, I always dreamed of working at Petrobras. Ironically, life led me down a different path—one filled with new learning and professional growth. When Capco Brazil started working in Energy, I made my dream known to my leaders. When the opportunity came up, I had to be on-site with the client in Macaé—almost 1,000 kilometers from home.

Once again, Capco supported me—through Luciano Sobral and Roberta Gabarron, who reassured me: “Go there, show your work, win over the client, and prove that even from afar, you’re essential.” The first time I stepped into the Petrobras base, I felt like I was in the right place at the right time.

Since then, I’ve learned so much from Rodrigo Santos, who gave me a new challenge: coordinating a project with over 100 people and managing hotel logistics— something new for the client, new for Capco, and new for me. I’ve also learned a lot from Pollyana Melo, who’s supported me from the beginning, and now we’re again working together on another project.

The same year I joined Capco, the Women@Capco affinity group was created. I’ve been a part of it ever since, and in 2021, I took on a leadership role. That’s when I found my purpose: accelerating other women’s professional development, so we can achieve equity and build a more diverse corporate environment.

Now, I have blank pages ahead—but they already hold the sketch of where I want to go!

This is me. All of this, in one person!
