CAPCO ROLE AND FOCUS

Neil Ramchandran is Managing Director of Capco APAC and Managing Partner with a number of roles within Capco. At a regional level, Neil is in charge of client relationship management and delivery for Capco’s operations across the Asia-Pacific region, where he is also responsible for growing the firm’s presence – leveraging his experience and successful track-record in India, where he tripled the size of Capco’s offshore presence over a three-year period.

Neil is also leading the charge in helping Capco build its change practice in the region, focusing on developing the firm’s capability around “Regulatory Change”, particularly in the areas of FATCA and GATCA.

At a global level - leveraging Neil’s deep expertise and experience in financial services change, technology, offshoring and outsourcing - he is responsible for developing the firm’s change and technology practices. This includes the management of a community within Capco dedicated to niche software packages such as Calypso and Murex. He holds responsibility across the firm for application development and maintenance.

INDUSTRY EXPERTISE

Neil has significant experience in developing both near and offshore locations, and has been involved in the successful establishment of near and offshore facilities and delivery models across a number of locations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and India.

Like the majority of his colleagues, Neil has deep financial services industry expertise, which includes setting up and running operations in the areas of capital markets change delivery (complex change projects across asset classes), large-scale technology delivery focusing especially on niche technologies such as Calypso and Murex, financial management (SAP, purchasing, accounts payable and financial accounting), IT (outsourced delivery and development units) and BPO (call centers and back office processing centers).

CLIENT ENGAGEMENT EXPERIENCE

Neil’s client experience has included setting up a number of large on and offshore engagements for a variety of financial institutions.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Before joining Capco some four years ago, Neil spent a significant part of his career working at Accenture in leadership roles based in the UK and Germany. He has a strong mix of both professional and financial services industry expertise, having also worked with a major UK based retail bank. He holds an MBA in strategy and finance, with a specialization in finance from the London School of Economics (LSE).

Fluent in English, Neil also speaks German, French and six Indian languages. He has lived and worked in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, South Africa and the Far East. He currently resides in Hong Kong.
