Capco recently partnered with OpenAI for an immersive GenAI event at our New York Empire State office designed to accelerate practical AI adoption, unlock new use cases and bring together developer teams from across the Americas.
Bringing together over 100 Capco employees from Orlando, Chicago, Texas, Toronto, New York and other locations, the event offered a hands-on exploration of how AI can transform the way we work, sell, build, and deliver for our clients. Delivered in partnership with OpenAI, the session was designed to help participants move beyond AI awareness and into practical solution-building.
Teams worked together to identify real business opportunities, prototype AI-enabled ideas, and showcase solutions that could support internal productivity, client delivery, commercial growth and future sales conversations.
Building AI fluency through hands-on learning
The day began with a session led by Pierre-Edouard Lieb, GTM at OpenAI - AI Deployment Manager[TS1.1], who introduced participants to ChatGPT, advanced GenAI capabilities and practical ways to use AI tools to support business challenges. Throughout the day Pierre-Edouard joined Capco AI subject matter experts in providing guidance, answering questions, and helping participants shape ideas into practical, business-relevant solutions.
Attendees then moved into team-based working groups, some focusing on Codex-enabled solutions while others concentrated on non-Codex use cases using ChatGPT and related AI capabilities. The teams worked through a focused build period that included use case definition, hands-on solutioning, iteration and preparations for final presentations.
In line with the event’s focus on experimentation, teams were challenged to identify a meaningful business problem, explore how GenAI could help address it, and develop a clear solution concept that could be demonstrated to the broader group. Several themes emerged across the teams:
- Improving individual and team productivity
- Accelerating sales and go-to-market activities
- Creating client-specific AI solutions
- Building internal dashboards and decision tools
- Turning fragmented data and knowledge into actionable insight.
Solutions spotlight
The teams developed a wide range of AI-enabled concepts, with several standout examples demonstrating how GenAI can address real business challenges across operations, delivery, and commercial growth.
Collectively, these solutions showed the breadth of potential GenAI applications across Capco, from internal operations and delivery acceleration to sales enablement and client-facing innovation.
The day concluded with a showcase during which each team highlighted the business problem they addressed, the AI-enabled solution they created, the potential impact and how the idea could be developed further. These presentations reflected a broad range of thinking across productivity, client delivery, internal enablement, sales acceleration, and AI-powered decision support.
The final selections (see table) were determined through anonymous online voting, giving attendees a direct role in recognizing the ideas they found most compelling.
Agentic ETL Automation and SPARK stood out across the Codex and non-Codex categories respectively, demonstrating how both technical and business-led AI solutions can create measurable value when paired with the right problem statement, data, and delivery support.
Fillr is a hackathon-winning AI-powered resourcing and revenue-protection agent built to replace slow, fragmented spreadsheet matching and reduce revenue leakage from delayed role placements. Using live Capco resourcing and pipeline data, it matches open roles to available consultants, flags recruiting gaps before start dates are missed, and quantifies the financial impact of unfilled roles.
In a single run, Fillr assessed 311 open roles against 600+ consultants, identified more than $4M in revenue at risk, and reduced a process that previously took three resourcing managers three days to just minutes—without manual cross-referencing.

From curiosity to capability
GenAI adoption is not driven by tools alone. It requires confidence, practical experience, strong use cases and a clear understanding of how AI can create measurable business value. Our New York event demonstrated how Capco can help teams move from curiosity to capability by combining hands-on learning, partner expertise, and business-focused solution design.
The day also served as a powerful example of how AI events can support both internal transformation and external client engagement. By bringing together employees, leadership, OpenAI expertise and practical use case development, we established a model that can be adapted for future client-facing innovation sessions.
Capco and OpenAI brought GenAI innovation to life in New York. The opportunity now is to take those ideas forward and help our clients do the same.
