Banking and Payments
From the early development of Mettle to the growth of embedded finance, Capco has worked closely with NatWest Boxed to support its evolving ambitions. Combining deep financial services expertise with technology advice and delivery, we have helped shape the platform and capabilities behind its growth – and continue to support the next stage of NatWest Boxed’s journey.
WHY NOW
Embedded finance is making it easier for brands to bring financial products directly into their customer journeys. Behind that simplicity lies a more complex challenge: building technology that can support new products and business models while remaining resilient, adaptable and secure.
WHAT WE DID
Working alongside NatWest Boxed, Capco helped address this challenge by providing specialist expertise across core banking, payments and architecture. Together, we helped develop a modern, API-based Banking as a Service proposition, building on the technology foundations established through the earlier development of Mettle.
Capco Partner Chris Rahnejat reflects on the collaboration, the work behind the platform and the milestones achieved along the way.
WHAT WE DELIVERED AND WHAT COMES NEXT
The resulting platform provided NatWest Boxed with greater flexibility to develop its embedded finance proposition and respond to new opportunities. Building on this progress, Capco is now supporting the next phase of development, including embedded lending, as NatWest Boxed continues to invest in AI, resilience and scalability.
Asif Siddiqui, Director of Engineering, Banking as a Service at NatWest Boxed, shares how platform ownership and emerging technologies are helping shape the future of embedded finance.
