Michael’s particular area of specialization is retail and commercial banking, including management reporting, performance measurement and management, multi-dimensional profitability system design and implementation, the redesign of planning and forecasting, and Basel II compliance initiatives.
THOUGHT LEADERSHIP
Michael co-authored the white paper Using risk-based profitability to help ‘run the business’, in which he discusses how financial services companies should continue to enhance their risk-adjusted performance capabilities to compete effectively in the post-crisis economy. The paper explores what organizations can do to avoid repeating the turmoil of the past few years by striking the right balance between risk and use of capital.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Michael has over 21 years of professional and consulting experience. Prior to joining Capco, he was a Senior Vice President and Management Director with BearingPoint’s Management Consulting segment, and led the firm’s World Class Finance practice. Before this, Michael served as Vice President in the Financial Planning and Analysis group of Citibank’s US/Europe Consumer Bank, where he designed, implemented and supported the management reporting systems and processes for the Retail Banking business unit.
