Digital transformation: large sWISS retail financial institution
From the beginning of 2018, Capco has actively contributed to the client’s ambition of becoming the number one digital bank in Switzerland. Thanks to the excellent work delivered, the Capco team was able to position itself in key roles across the extensive transformation program and is now at the forefront of delivering front to back digital projects. The program competencies include adapting digital channels to comply with the changing customer behavior, replacing branches with omnichannel concepts, enabling digitization through a flexible IT infrastructure, redesigning the operating model, promoting agile culture and disrupting previously proven business models.
unified target operating model: international investment bank
On their quest to service customers anytime and anywhere, the client onboarded the Capco experts to run the delivery project with the aim of improving process efficiency, reducing local infrastructure complexity and creating a stronger Swiss investment bank with an enhanced client experience. The Capco team successfully delivered a dedicated setup for the Swiss entity of the bank, where clients continue to face, interact and contract with the Swiss entity whilst the infrastructure and applications services are leveraged from the core group technology stack and the operational processing is aligned with the group operating model. The Swiss entity is looking to decommission as many Swiss-specific applications as possible, reallocating resources to increase client services and provide superior customer experience.
core banking system migration: Swiss private bank
After making the decision to migrate its core banking system to a new platform, the client engaged a team of Capco consultants to cover leading roles in both business and technical areas of the project. Since the beginning of 2018, the Capco team has been instrumental in this demanding assignment and has managed several key aspects of the project, such as data migration, contingency plan strategy, change management, testing, defect management and training. With a go-live scheduled for 2019, the final (and critical) testing phases are currently underway across all departments and locations of the client’s group.
state of the art trading platform: Swiss private bank
The trading desk of a Swiss private bank was aiming to improve turnaround time and quality of their re-balancing process. For this purpose, the client decided to implement a lifecycle management platform for Actively Managed Certificates (AMCs). Actively Managed Certificates represent an important and flexible vehicle for implementing cross-asset allocations at large institutions, dynamic portfolios at independent asset managers and smaller funds, as well as thematic investing across segments. The combination of Capco’s project management expertise and a state of the art platform led to a successful project implementation, translating into increased customer value, improved relationship manager experience and a potential for generating additional revenues.

Dr. Andrzej Nowak
Consultant, Capco Switzerland
My path to Capco was not a particularly direct one, but looking back, I realize it’s not a surprise that I have ended up working here. Earlier in my career, I managed a technology innovation lab at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research. A particle physics experiment – for example looking for new particles or dark matter – pumps out hundreds of petabytes of raw data every second. Upgrades due in a few years will increase data volumes by multiples of 100. These volumes of data created the need for a close partnership with major Fortune 100 players to find transformative, cutting-edge solutions for the next decade and beyond.
After leaving this fascinating assignment, I created two companies. One of them was a Swiss fintech startup in the crowd-lending space, and it is through my startup that I first met Capco - at the Fusion incubator in Geneva.
Science and finance have more in common than we think – precision, rigor, the desire to quantify things as much as possible and the drive to perform better.
For me personally, the sum of innovations propelling giant projects and an interest in finance equals Capco. Today, in a post-banking-secrecy world, the Swiss financial arena must boldly step into the future and aspire to a position of strength while capitalizing on traditional Swiss qualities. These include high quality innovation, razor-sharp delivery focus and trustworthy relationships. I’m looking forward to making such contributions to the next generation of finance with Capco.
