Consulting firm dedicated to financial services further expands global reach with opening of near-shore centre in Bratislava, Slovakia

Capco, a global business and technology consultancy dedicated solely to the financial services industry, today announced the establishment of a near-shore centre based in Bratislava, Slovakia. The move to establish a presence in the Slovakian market brings to 16 the number of offices Capco now operates from worldwide, across four continents. Capco’s operations in Bratislava will be headed by Claus Hintermeier. Claus joins Capco with extensive financial services experience, having worked in the domain for over 15 years. With a strong focus on capital markets and core banking, Claus has held senior IT and programme management roles at many leading financial services. Most recently he worked for a global consulting firm as Delivery Centre Lead in Bratislava, Prague and Bucharest.

Claus comments: “With its proximity to Vienna and a very strong talent-pool, Bratislava presents Capco with an ideal base to deliver complex IT engagements to a pan European client base. Bratislava’s physical and linguistic proximity to Western Europe combined with ready access to deep industry expertise will position us to provide leading consultancy services to our client base. Capco has already established a strong reputation with many of the world’s leading financial services institutions and I am keen to continue building on this. Over the past decade and a half, I have enjoyed working with significant talent in the Slovakian market to successfully deliver a number of significant engagements to leading financial services institutions. I look forward to growing Capco’s presence locally as we build out our presence in Bratislava with the addition of further financial services expertise.”

Farzine Fazel, Partner at Capco said: “The opening of this new office reflects the continued execution of our European growth strategy. Our clients consistently tell us that they value the comprehensive understanding of the financial services market that our employees at all levels possess. We believe Capco represents a terrific opportunity for individuals with industry knowledge to further develop their careers, gaining additional exposure to financial services as part of a professional services firm with an established global presence, an enviable client portfolio, and the strong backing of our 30, 000 person strong parent company FIS(TM), the leading provider dedicated to banking and payments technologies. Capco’s work environment has been formally recognized in both North America and Europe through the attribution of a number of industry accolades, including most recently being ranked in 27th position by the UK’s The Sunday Times in a poll of the Top 100 Firms to Work For.”

Capco is currently looking to hire individuals with capital markets and core banking expertise, both from the business and technical sides, with a particular focus on front / middle / back office experience, as well as trading systems including Kondor+, Murex, Summit or Calypso, and related testing activities.
