Capco , a global business and technology consultancy dedicated solely to the financial services industry, announces the appointment of Andreas Pfeil as its new Global Head of Solution Design. Pfeil will take the lead in ensuring that Capco’s Package Integration (PI) offerings are implemented effectively in line with ever evolving market requirements, and that they continue to deliver maximum return on investment for Capco’s client base. Pfeil will also lead Capco’s relationship with trading operations software platform provider Murex as the company continues to enjoy the strong growth it is seeing in its Murex practice.
Pfeil brings to Capco the extensive experience he has gained with the Murex software package – a core component underpinning trading operations at a number of leading financial services institutions. He joins Capco after 12 years with Accenture, where he worked on some of the largest European post-merger integration programmes which used Murex as the software package of choice. Pfeil spent eight years as a software developer before entering consultancy.
Andreas Pfeil , Global Head of Solution Design, said:
“I am excited to be joining Capco at a time of ongoing growth in demand. In 2010, the market for our Package Integration services has seen a very strong level of interest. Financial services clients are resuming a number of software upgrade projects which had previously been stopped or put on hold as a result of the financial crisis. Additionally, an increase in the number of mergers and joint ventures has raised demand for standardised software packages. Ongoing efforts to reduce IT costs across the board are supported by the effective implementation of IT packages.
“Moreover, the current climate means we are seeing fundamental change in the packages that financial services institutions are implementing. With its deep domain expertise, Capco is particularly well positioned to support the increased need for greater risk reporting, which has come to the fore as a priority for financial institutions as a consequence of increased regulatory reform.”
Peter Schurau , Head of Capco Europe, added:
“We are thrilled that Andreas has joined Capco. His deep experience as a technology expert will play an important role in our expansion of Capco’s Package Integration offering across the full breadth of Capco’s domains, and will also further strengthen our relationship with Murex.”
Capco’s Package Integration team has deep expertise in complex package environments, including derivative and commodity markets, wealth management and provides full life-cycle management and support for specialist package vendors including Murex (Capco is a Murex Alliance Partner), SimCorp, Advent Geneva, OpenLink, and Wallstreet Suite.
