Capco role and focus
Claus Hintermeier leads Capco’s Near-shore Center based in Bratislava, Slovakia. Together with his Bratislava based colleagues, Claus focuses on ensuring the development and delivery of the required market capabilities with appropriate capacity, at the right point in time. Capco’s Nearshore Center offers leading Financial Services clients the ideal combination of physical and linguistic proximity, deep industry expertise – helping clients reduce costs with minimized regulatory / FX risk.

Industry expertise
Claus has more than 15 years’ experience in Financial Services, with a strong focus on Capital Markets and Core Banking. He has particular expertise in setting up, developing and directing near-shore capabilities in several Central European countries for global firms and institutions.

Claus is a well-respected industry expert and has recently authored "Nearshore – Close, Compliant and Cost-effective".

Professional background
Prior to joining Capco, Claus worked for Accenture, where client work included:

• Directing the Bratislava Delivery Centre, heading an 800+ FTE strong near-shore IT workforce in Slovakia, Romania and the Czech Republic
• Establishing and developing a Capital Markets capability focusing on IT trading platforms (MUREX, Calypso etc.)
• Advising clients in optimal value creation through near-shore IT services
• Managing international Capital Markets and Banking IT programmes involving up to 80 FTE, e.g. the regional spin-off and migration of a direct bank for a global financial services firm
• Leading the design team for a major European software vendor’s core banking module
• Providing strategic advice to CIOs and upper management on IT infrastructure optimization

Claus also has several years’ experience as Managing Director of a French firm, which provided IT consulting services to on-line brokerages across Europe. He started his IT consulting career in 1995 within Deutsche Börse’s Xetra programme, after completing his PhD in Computer Science.
